If you genuinely want to compare a lot of boats back-to-back then no other show makes it more convenient than the Düsseldorf Boat Show. It’s one of the biggest – if not the biggest – indoor show in the world and it has everything from kayaks to superyachts.

The show is brilliantly run and easy to get to – you  even get free public transport around the city with your show ticket.

It’s a big show to get around so it’s best to allow two full days to take it all in and ensure you don’t have to rush your lunch of Bratwurst and Altbier in the charming outdoor food market at the show’s centre.

How to get to the Düsseldorf Boat Show

There are plentiful low-cost flights into Düsseldorf airport from all over the UK. From there it’s a 10-minute taxi or 20 minutes on the bus to the Messe Centre for the Düsseldorf Boat Show.

There’s a good selection of hotels near the Messe Centre itself or in the town centre near the Altestadt (old town), which is well worth visiting of an evening for a bratwurst and a lager (or two, or three).

Düsseldorf Boat Show 2022 cancelled

On Thursday 30 December, the organisers announced that the 2022 Düsseldorf Boat Show will no longer go ahead on its original dates of January 22-30, due to the sharp rise in COVID-19 cases linked to the Omicron variant.

In a statement, Wolfram N. Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf said: “The heartfelt thanks of the entire boot Düsseldorf team go to all exhibitors, associations and partners who have stood by our side to date.

“I am sure that together we will head for a successful boot 2023, after hopefully surviving the crisis.”

In the same announcement, the organisers added that the 2023 Düsseldorf Boat Show has been scheduled for 21-29 January.
